Compatibility of Groupy with Fancy Zones

Hello,

For my productivity I using Fancy Zones all the time.

For my productivity I bought and installed today Fences and Groupy, but what happens is that the windows that Groupy has taken into account no longer make Fancy Zones react.
Do you know this problem and its solution?

Thank you for your help.
It’s a serious problem for me.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having trouble.

Unless I am missing something, I dont see that there is an issue:

Hello Sean,
Thank you for your answer.

Your demonstration gave me the idea to proceed to different tests.
I thus understood the cause of the problem and its solution.

Here is the cause:
Groupy adds a bar above the windows to place the tabs.
If you point this bar with the mouse to move the window, it moves, but then there is the problem that I described.

Here is the solution:
If we point to the original title bar of the window, it moves and everything works fine.

Thanks again.

Another related issue, if you have horizontal splits in FancyZones, the Groupy tab bar appears above the split's border on a split that is not the top split. For what it's worth, the same issue applies to DisplayFusion's horizontal splits as well.

"Combine if possible" doesn't solve the problem at all except in some very specific cases.

Some further investigation. If you use a couple of standard app windows like Notepad, it's not a problem.

But if, however, you use windows from an Electron app, or group some Edge Chromium Windows or some modern Windows applications, the tabs will still be above the designated line in FancyZones or Display Fusion when the split is not the top split.

I have run into the same issue.

The apps that I use groupy with are Google Chrome, Firefox, office 365.

None of those have the grouped bar accessible when I shift move it into FancyZones.

I hope somebody can find a fix for this because it is quite annoying to be honest.

Investigating further compatibility with FancyZones is something that's on the list for the next update.

I had same problem with the tabs being off the top of the screen but I found a solution.  In FancyZones, try unchecking "Show space around zones".  It worked perfectly for me.

This issue has been addressed with Groupy 1.36 which is available to download as a beta right now.

The fix does work for FancyZones, but it would be nice if you could do the same fix for DisplayFusion's Monitor Profiles splits (https://www.displayfusion.com/Features/MonitorSplitting/)

If you have some "modern" (Windows UWPs) or Electron apps (e.g., slack and whatsapp) grouped and your screen is split vertically, all of the window splits below the top split have the tabs overlapped into the split above it.
