Issue grouping windows using drag and drop

If I start a new group of windows, I drag one window onto the top of the other. If this is a new window group - this works 100% of the time. After two windows are grouped, it's not possible to drag more windows to the existing group. What happens instead is a random different program in the background is selected to from a new pair (vs having 3 windows grouped).

If I go to grouped on a window pair and manually select add to group --> and then select the program the grouping works. Please add the functionality to accomplish this with drag and drop. Ease of life feature.

I don't see any options in groupy that I have set that would look to be preventing this functionality.

Thanks

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. That is not normal behavior. Normally you can add program to a group without a problem. Unless that program is not compatible with Groupy. Need to know more.

1) Windows Version. Please use winver.exe for full version numbers

2) Groupy Version.

3) A video grab of this issue and post it here so we can understand the issue much better.

Thanks

Sorry for the delay. I have a video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8h2Q2C_pDQ&feature=youtu.be

While recording this, I was able to gather some more details for you. This has something to do with an existing group and focus being on the second app.

If you group two apps together, and focus is on the second app and you attempt to group the third app - one of two things will happen. Either the third app won't group or will randomly select another background ungrouped app to group with. I have a recording with both happening.

If there is a group and the user purposefully selects the first app each time - then the third, fourth app, etc will group. If the group has the last app selected, the new app can't be grouped. The first app must be selected.

This appears to be happening with apps that have their own tabs. Chrome, IE, etc. Not sure if this is a tabed app vs tabbed app conflict?

Hopefully the above makes sense. Thanks for the help. Let me know if you need anything else.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having trouble.

While a bit hard to follow, I (we) can't seem to reproduce your issue.

In this example, I have multiple other apps open in the background and maximized (all typical: WinExp, NotePad, additional Chrome window with multiple tabs of it open).

Well, let's eliminate that (or any other) possibility with the Purge / Reinstall and keeping the default settings:

Can you re-try your test with the apps in this order: chrome, 2nd chrome and then notepad?
End of JonnyRando's quote

The order has no bearing:
