issues with license

I keep getting pop-ups from Multiplicity saying it either is or will be deactivated in a few days.

But as you can see, if I look at the license, it shows it is activated. I have tried using my key and reactivating, but then it says my license is already in use. Yes, it is on use -- on this computer.

The only change is routine Windows patching. I'm on 18362.418 (1903). I know they've been breaking stuff left and right lately.

I'm in a situation here where it'll stop working, and I cannot fix it. I know the standard issue is to reinstall, but I don't see how this isn't an issue with your activation servers. My license is associated with the account I'm posting this under, if you need to check. The primary's name is TRIPP3-PC, and it's the only primary I've ever used.

Please help.

Thanks

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having trouble.

You can only have one Primary activated per key.  Secondaries do not need activation.

I'm aware of that. I've only had one primary.

It's alternately claiming it's deactivated and must be activated (but won't let me) and then showing it's already activated but will deactivate in a few days. That's the issue.

Hello,

On the Primary, press the Windows key and "R" at the same time. A "Run" dialog box will pop up, please paste the path below into the "Open" field and press OK.

%ProgramData%\Stardock\

In the folder that pops up, you should see a folder named Multiplicity. Please delete this folder and all of its contents.

After you have deleted that folder, please attempt to activate once again and it should succeed without any errors.

I just got another laptop and am trying to install Multiplicity Pro on it as the master machine.  I keep getting an error message about "Cannot write license to file" (something like that).   After a number of tries, I got an error message about maximum activations.

Multiplicity is running on my old machine just fine.  It was the previous master machine but now is the secondary.  I see there are two different installs - one is Edgerunner and one not.  Both are Windows 7 machines.

I searched this forum and showed hidden/system files and could not find any Stardock data in the Program Data folder.  Zero.

I checked using three different browsers and none showed the link to Manage Activations for my licenses.

What do I do?

Try right clicking on the program shortcut and selecting "Run as administrator" and see if the issue persists. You should only need to do this the one time.
