WindowBlinds 8 default skins on WindowBlinds 10?

I installed my Win 8 Virtual Machine with Windowblind 8.3 and there is no AeroWood in it as default theme. Not sure if there was in other WB 8.x other than 8.3. From searching around the only Aero Wood I found is in Deviantart. But those were under VisualStyle.

There is Aero Executive for Windowblinds : https://www.wincustomize.com/explore/windowblinds/6369/

You should be able to download this one and directly applied it for Windowblinds 10.

Aero wood etc are uis0 skins which only work on Windows 7.

They still exist in Windowblinds 10 but only when on Windows 7 .

You should always have copies of the skins you use/have. I even have copies of master skins. There's always the possibility of the worst case scenario present. There's been numerous times that I've benefited from having copies. I also have backups for widgets and wallpapers. Even with all that I sometimes am at a loss. Always better safe than sorry.

I just took this screenshot from my old PC. This is the style I'm talking about. WindowBlinds 8 also came with "Aero Colours", "Aero Clay" and "Aero Metals" but I only care about Woods.

It is a default style ("by Stardock Design") and I could not find the .wba files for these themes anywhere on my PC, if they even exist.

I hope they make an updated version of these Aero skins for Windows 10. I was looking forward to having the wood theme for Autumn.

They don't.

As far as I can tell they were just textures applied to "something" (maybe Diamond?).  The good news is, if you really want them, you can still find the texture images (.tga's) via Windows Explorer in the Windowblinds skin directory.  They're in the directories Aero, Aero Clay, Aero Metals, Aero Wood.  You can then use them to make your own textures, for your own personal use only, which you can then apply to any skin.  See the "Create effect" button at the bottom of WBConfig's Textures page.

It might take you a few tries to get it the way you want.  but there you go.

Dave I just tried making a texture using the wood textures. They are too lite to be able to see them. I applied them to Diamond and also Aero Frost. I even moved the transparency sliders to the right. I fired up my Win 7 and the textures are bold and solid. They must have used a specific WB for them.

I played with one of the wood ones, ya they do seem a little transparent.  The one I played with looked the best on a "medium-bright" skin, e.g Emprise.  Too light or too dark and it fades away.

I guess I could mention that if a person really wants those textures, again for personal use, the tga's could be imported through SkinStudio and then adjusted.  Anyway, they are there, all is not lost.

Guys, Aero doesn't work on 10.

I liked Cideral. Nope, not on 10.  none of the Aero skins work on 10.

Yes, that is true.  The textures they used still remain though.  This is one of the wood ones I just slapped together applied to the Emprise taskbar:

I can confirm Aero Frost, Aero Midnight, Aero Metal and Aero Executive does work on 10. They're probably the Aero's your not talking about Jim.

A little secret don't tell anyone, but if you install Theme Manager on your Win 10 (I know it won't work on 10) so if you install it you can get the Midnight suite and the Gloss Mint suite. Change the .suite to .zip an extract them you get the WB, IP, walls and the gadgets.

Aero Executive and Aero Midnight are a couple of my favorites.  Been dragging those along for about a decade.   

So there is some way to get back Aero Mostly Everything But Wood?

Ok... guess all I can do is hope that they update the old default skins for Windows 10 and include them in a future update.
