Feature Suggestions

Hello all,

I looked for a section suggestions to the products, but could not find one so hopefully this will suffice.

I have to say that so far I am really loving the Groupy application. It really bummed me out that Microsoft scrapped the Sets project, and this is indeed a wonderul alternative. After messing around with the product and getting a feel for its usability, some things I felt lacking or could perhaps be added in a future release are:

  • A close button to close all of the applications at once
  • A way to hide the labels in the tab
  • An option to right click on folders or filetypes, that would say something like "Add to new tab". Similar to how right clicking on folders has an "Add to new window" option
    • I'm actually curious, could this functionality be achieved through a registry hack and call a certain endpoint for the Groupy application?

Keep up the good work!

I'm also looking for a feature suggestions page. Since once isn't in place I'll just throw mine here:

  • The ability to title a Groupy window.
  • The ability to color coat a Groupy window.
  • Create a single taskbar button for a Groupy window. Currently, even though there are Groupy windows, each individual application is still listed in the taskbar. It would be nice if only a Groupy window taskbar button was present.

@Blazing_Ardor

A close button to close all of the applications at once

Though there's not a dedicated button for it, you can right click the top bar of a Groupy window and select "Close all windows in this group" to achieve this.

I have a suggestion.  In the settings window, it is very hard to determine when the options with checkmarks in front of them are set on or off.  This series of images show the problem.

They really need to be distinctive and I'm really not sure which are on and which are not.

Thanks!

Hello,

loving the software. Been a fan of Stardock since I've started using Fences. Also can't live without Start10.

I'd also like to make a feature suggestion:

I never click the maximise button. I always drag my taskbar to the top of my screen and maximise my windows like that. One thing about Groupy that I was expecting (which confused me a little), was that when I dragged a tab to the top of my screen, Groupy would also maximise the window (and the other grouped windows), but this didn't happen. I need to move the mouse to the taskbar and drag that up to get the window maximised.

I hope this functionality could be added.

Kind regards,

Llewelyn

I'd also like to see a Groupy created context menu item, "Open in New Tab".

I thought last summer, while in a File Explorer grouping; I'd select a folder, select open in new window; and the folder would open in a new window than that window would join the existing group.  This seems to have changed sometime this fall.

Now, the new window does not join the existing group automatically.  I go back to the the original group and add it to the newly opened window.  I don't see where any of my Groupy settings have changed.

I'm using Groupy v1.25 on Windows 10 1903 on both my PC and laptop.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please check if the below option enable. That should make the Explorer auto groupy when you open a new explorer.

Thanks
