Can't even believe you even asked this question. There aren't many WindowBlind skinners left here. So you think it's ok to take one of my or other peoples 80 hour skin or more, spend 5 or 10 hours changing a few things, renaming it and uploading it as your own. Totally NO.

BTW: Before one completely knows how to make a full complete skin they can spend over a 100 hours on one.

Creative Commons is a voluntary thing. You as an artist/author release your own work under this license; no one forces you to.

It's pretty common. Wikipedia uses this license, for instance. There are supposedly some 15 million CC projects on DeviantArt. I use CC or GPL for most of my projects

Anyway, I would consider buying a skin, but I haven't seen anything I really like yet, except "Modern". And most of the third-party skins are not quite up to the level of being worth spending money on, IMO.

Mikali, I think that coming to this forum and acting the way you are is wrong. Who do you think you are? The creators of the Windowblinds here work hard at their craft. Many of them are Masters. You expect something for nothing and then you belittle the creators. You need a attitude adjustment.

Voluntarily releasing a skin or two with a license that allows redistribution (with credit) might aslo be a way of getting a new generation of skinners in the game.  It doesn't take awya from the work a skinner and it doesn't allow a new skinner to take credit for work they didn't do.

With you guys' attitude to what has become an important social movement (Free and Open Source Software/Artwork) across the world over the last decade, no wonder you cannot attract more skinners!

Anyway, I like FOSS, but do not object to paid software when it's a good value such as Stardock's software. But taste is subjective, and I do not feel this way about the skins on this site, nor do I have to.

That is not a problem because with your attitude no one will want to work with you either. You come across as a know-it-all who thinks he is better than anyone else and that is unfortunate but not surprising, the world is full of know-it-alls that do not want to listen to people who really know what they are talking about.
