Config files?

Are there any config files where I can specify fence parameters using a text editor? Thanks.

Most all Fences settings are in its registry location:

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Stardock\Fences

Is there a guide to what all the values mean? Do I have to restart my machine each time for the changes to take effect?

No. Perhaps we could help more if we new what your goals were.

Depends on the setting.

I would like to set the coordinates of the fences precisely. (I am obsessive when it comes to things being neat and orderly.) I could not find an GUI interface to do so. Thanks!

This is what we know so far:-

In Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Stardock\Fences\Groups, you will find something like

Fences Coordinates Registry

Where the coordinates of your fences are in the REG_SZ values. The format appears to be as follows:-

a|b|c|d|e|f|g|h|i|j|k|l|m|n|o|p|q|r|s|t|u|v|w|x|y

a: fence ID no.

b: x-coordinate offset of top-left corner of fence from top-left corner of the desktop

c: y-coordinate offset of top-left corner of fence from top-left corner of the desktop (not taking into account fence's label)

d: horizontal length of fence in pixels

e: vertical length of fence in pixels (this appears to take into account the vertical length of the fence's label)

f: unknown

g: name of fence's label

h: monitor ID no.

i: unknown

j: unknown

k: monitor's horizontal resolution in pixels

l: monitor's vertical resolution in pixels

m: desktop page number that the fence appears on ('0' is the first, leftmost page)

n: unknown

o: unknown

p: seems to be the same value as m

q: unknown

r: unknown

s: unknown

t: unknown

u: unknown

v: unknown

w: unknown

x: unknown

y: unknown
