Menu and background skinning.

Taskbar menu and that infernal white

A quick question for the skinning pros here. I seem unable to get the desktop menus and the taskbar menus to skin to the designed ones. Would someone be able to direct me to information on getting that to work (win 10 latest)

And then that White background of the windows. I have tried and tried to remove that white and darken it but i seem to be missing the mark on a regular basis. Once again any pointers to getting that to skin?

Thanks for listening.I have searched the help and been trying for about a month to get these things un-windowfied but have failed. Thanks in advance.

Desktop menus (right click on desktop) Can't skin the backrground part only set its color. But the Menu items can be skinned. This is due to (I assume) Windows 10 limitations. To get the menu background colors is at Skinstudio -> Change skin colours-> Dropdown menu "Show me the skin defined system colours ->Menu. Change to colour you wish) refer below s/shot.

Right click on pinned icons or taskbar button menu also can't be skin always black and gray with white text, not sure what it is on Win10 v1903 light theme. Note taskbar button not skinned since Win10 v1903. I am still on Win10 v1809. So I can't confirm nor deny it.

Try to change these colours, please refer s/shot below.

Thank you for answering. I already had the menu items skinned and understand now that the desktop menu is a lost cause otherwise. Background colors I already had darkened but the white I was asking about still exists.

I don't know what LightStar does differently, but his skins, along with OldNewExplorer, and those menus get skinned, not always just colored. He gets textures there as well.

Really? That something new to me. Its the right click on desktop menu? Can you point me to one of Tom skins, free one if possible so I can try it out.

Thank you,

The menus he is getting are those that are forced by Windows 10, which ignores the images and settings in the Menus and Menubars area in SkinStudio and just uses the colors area settings.

I use a tweak called RC Menu Tweak Package to force Windows 10 to use the ones I create for skins, and not the ugly Windows 10 ones.

Thanks for the information Tom, but I was hoping there is someway that Windowblinds itself can do it.

Not that I have ever seen Basj, but I wish WB would force the right click menus to be those that the WB designer created.
