Not able to assign unique image to 2nd monitor

I just undated to DeskScapes 10 from Deskscapes 8. When I try to assign a second image to Monitor 2, the image gets assigned to both monitors. Same results if I try to assign an image to monitor 1. Deskscapes 8 worked without problems. Is there a workaround for this or do I need to go back to version 8?

Thanks

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please try the purge and reinstall steps as mentioned here : https://forums.stardock.com/485954/deskscapes-support-faq#reinstalling

Just make sure to re-download the latest version from your account, reinstall that version after purge rebooted. reboot again after the installation. Retest and report back here.

Thanks

I downloaded and ran SDPurg.bat as you requested. Downloaded the latest version of DeskScapes10_setup_sd.exe. I ran the bat file, restarted the computer and ran the latest version of DeskScapes10_setup_sd.exe. The application still will only apply one image to both monitors.

Thanks,

Michael

Are you trying the 'random' feature or manually setting them?  If the former, random, it will only ever set one to each / any monitor.

I am Manually setting them. I select the image from Myfolders then click on "Apply to Monitor1" to select the first image. select the next image and then click on "apply to Monitor 2" to select the second image. Both monitors are reset to the Monitor 2 selection.

Thanks,

Michael

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having trouble.

How are both your monitors connected to said PCs - what connection types?  Are you using any monitor management software like DisplayFusion?

Hi Sean,

I am using HDMI connectors for both monitors, I am not using an Monitor management software. AMD Catalyst Control Center is installed but I don't use. I use Windows 10 built-in monitor management to split the desktop to the 2 monitors. A reminder that I used this exact setup with Deskscapes 8 without any problems.

Additional information:

Windows 10 Pro Version 1903 Build 18362.145

Video Card AMD Radeon HD 6800 Series

Thanks

Michael

You mean to say you 'Extend' the displays or 'Duplicate'?

Hi Sean,

Sorry, used the wrong verb, Extend the displays. Again the ability to put Image A on Display 1 and Image B on Display 2 worked fine in Deskscapes 8 and only stopped working when I upgraded to Deskscapes 10. Reverting back to Deskscapes 8 , the feature still works.

Thanks Michael

Hmmm, I think I have been able to reproduce what you are seeing but it involved using Windows to set the wallpaper in the mix:

https://cdn.stardock.us/support/uploads/2019-05-30_14-17-58.mp4

As you can see, DS works fine to set unique ones until I set the wallpaper with Windows, then go to DS to set it to 1 - that is when it fails as you describe.  If I use DS to set it to all monitors, then pick another to set it to 1 monitor, it works again.

Can you reproduce what I am doing?

Hi Sean,

When I uninstall Deskscapes 8 and reboot the computer, the Wallpaper image that was used for Monitor 1 was displayed on both monitors. After installing Deskscapes 10, I was not able to select a second image for Monitor 2. Whatever image I selected was displayed on both monitors no matter what monitor was selected. At no point did I use Windows to select a wallpaper as a separate operation. However after rebooting the computer a 2nd time with Deskscapes 10 installed, I was able to select a unique image for each Monitor. Curious but at least I am able to keep Deskscapes 10 installed and set the Wallpaper of my choice.

Working for me too.  I had the same issue.
