It may have other uses but what i wanted it for is the following...I load a desktop wallpaper , now i want to create a taskbar , coloring my Bitmaps using the colors from the new wallpaper......The eye-dropper tool will not select outside the graphic program window , you could bring in the wallpaper to the graphic window and use the eyedropper or you can sample the colors right off the desktop with colorpad and manualy enter the numbers into the graphic program...all you have to do is close and open the window....

Cholorwheel would work well for matching colors, once you decided on which one best works for you from the wall papaer.

Color Wheel Expert V4.2
Create harmonious color schemes with ease!
(For Windows 95/98/NT/Me/2000/XP) http://www.abitom.com/

How Does It Work
Based on the color wheel and color harmony theory, Color Wheel Expert enables you to select a color, and then have 12 harmonious colors displayed on a color wheel.

yup cool links. this is a skinners helper.

I don't know if anyone here uses quicknotes, that is the main reason why I needed a color picker that gives me the Microsoft screen numbers for colors (all 50 million or so of them)
