Taskbar will not hide

New user

I've just installed Windowblinds, and I've tried two different skins. I can't get the taskbar to hide (in the conventional setting). I am also using Start10. Anyone else come across this? Is there a setting I don't know about?

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues. For me hide taskbar still work as normal. And its setting is also just select that option in taskbar setting windows.

Have you try rebooting your system?

And Please try the following:

-For Win8/10 Users: Open the Start Screen, and type 'cmd'. Right-click on the search result and select 'Run as administrator' from below.

-Type: sfc /scannow

-Wait for the scan to complete (this can take several minutes)

Some help on how this looks should you need it:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/929833/use-the-system-file-checker-tool-to-repair-missing-or-corrupted-system

If the SFC finds errors, but cannot fix them, please also run the following command in the same command prompt window:

dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Some help on how this looks should you need it:

The above command should assist with replacing any damaged or problematic system files. Please note, however, since it may require restoring certain files, this process can take some time and you will need to be patient until it has completed.

Please let me know whether this resolves your problem or if you have any additional questions.

Thank you,

The reboot did it. Boy, do I feel ridiculous. Always my own first advice when someone has a problem.

Thanks

I think I saw something here about getting Chrome to skin. iIll go search that.

Open a new tab in chrome and type this into the url field, Chrome://flags. When it opens scroll down till you see Custom Drawn Windows 10 Title bar and click on disable. This will allow Chrome to be skinned by Windowblinds.

Maybe its time to run the SFC /scannow steps as I mentioned above.

Thank you,

Tried "sfc /scannow" (successful fixes), then "Chrome://flags." Not working. But at least I get an unskinned window that's readable. I wish I could get it, I have Chrome open all day.

Lately after launching Chrome I've been having to click on the desktop or another window, throwing the Chrome window into an inactive state, before it will skin.  Once I've done that it's fine, in case you haven't happened to have done that yet.  I think Chrome may have messed with itself yet again lately.

Yup. Sometimes the top part of the frame doesn't show and I have to click on a link in the bookmark bar to get it to show.

Kinda like this...
