Missing Techs Compared From Crusade and Retribution

I noticed there are a lot of missing techs in Retribution compared to Crusade.  Was this intentional? For example there is no Financial Capital Improvement in Retribution but there is a Tech Capital, Manufacturing Capital, and Entertainment Capital.

Short answer: yes.  A lot of the techs were trimmed away, including their improvements but the assets and such are still there if you want to mod them in.

Thanks, I just wish I knew how to do all that. How hard would it be to create a custom faction tech tree? I get so overwhelmed looking at the Master Tech Tree. Just how hard would it be to just implement the new Retribution Techs to the old Crusade techs?
