fences slowing down startup in w10 + M2

I've just instaled fences in my laptop and it resulted in my starup taking over 20 seconds. Without fences it was almost instantaneous.

I have a win 10 sistem, with a samsumg M2 950 pro 512gb. Fences is version 3.0.9.11, purchased through steam.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues. This "issues" have been reported by few users. But, from my observation, it is because, Windows 10 deliberately delays the startup of 3rd party applications by several seconds after a reboot. This makes Windows appear to boot faster to the desktop, but at the expense of 3rd party applications

Is there anything to be done to fix it?

I believe the Fences process slows a boot time by 0.3 of a second - about the blinking of an eye.

What you see however is the timing of 3rd party processes imposed upon Developers by Microsoft, ie only after the OS has completed loading - the true time it takes, not the artificial timing of desktop icons appearing before the boot has completed.

The only 'slowing' of your system is that 0.3 seconds....and the impression of "delay" as icons appear at the end of the boot, not somewhere in the middle of it...;)

I'm not so sure. Even if the fast boot without fences is "artificial", I can use my browser right away, so win10 is not simply showing the icons

Two ways you can easily watch it in action:

1- Watch how long it takes your systray icons to load

2- Add a program to your startup folder and watch how long it takes for it to load

End of Toraa's quote

You'll be able to use your browser at the same time, with or without Fences...;)
