Blurred square on top left corner of grouped windows

When a window/application that is set to group automatically is started for the first time, a blurred square appears at the top left corner of the window. This happens only when the window opens maximized and the only way to make it go away is to click the restore button (next to close button) in title bar. Any ideas what's going on and how to fix this issue? I think I saw this issue reported previously in this forum.
