HELP!!! Disabling Tooltips in XP

Does anyone have any idea how to disable the tooltips in XP? I have tried just about everything. I did the regedit hack but it didn't work. There has to be a way to turn those annoying little buggers off. Thanks.

Is this the 'hack' you tried?
Registry Settings
User Key: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\
Advanced]
Value Name: EnableBalloonTips
Data Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)
Value Data: (0 = disabled, 1 = enabled)

Yes, I used that one for the BalloonTips and it seems to work but the ToolTips edit below did not and that is what I'm really trying to accomplish.

1) Navigate to HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop.
2) Double-click UserPreferencemask and change its value to 3E 00 00 00.
3) Close the Registry Editor and restart Windows.

They easy way is to use X-Setup from http://www.xteq.com it also lets you tweak tons of other things, and will try and stop you from doing something Stupid, I did say Try. It is a great program and best of all it is Free.
