Object Dock
I plan on buying this software for $4.99 when they reopen after the Holidays because I like it a lot.
It takes place of the old school task bar and replaces it with a new modern day one, with many features to choose from.

Hello,
Glad you like it. But please make sure it is compatible with your system. You can read more about it here : https://www.stardock.com/products/objectdock/

I'm have windows 7 so I'm pretty sure it will work...the trail version is working great.

A quirk with OD you might run into. Normally open programs will show on the dock. When none are open you might see a 'ghost' icon, an empty space between icons that looks like an open program. To disable this go into settings and find the option that says show open programs on dock (not sure of the exact wording). Uncheck it and close then reopen the dock. That will get rid of the ghost icon but the downside is it won't show any open programs. Other than that and the absence of the weather docklet you should be good to go.
I have never had that problem on Windows 7, I do not remember if I had experienced it with windows 10.
I suspect it is like any software, some play nice on some systems but not everyone's.
Its one of those YMMV.
The problem is that Microsoft with their UWP apps threw out the rule book of how to detect applications that are running and what it means for an application to be closed (UWP apps are never really closed, they remain suspended once you open them for the first time). Also, since UWP apps are not Win32 applications, they don't even have an embedded icon (but rather a combination of separate PNG images) - the combination of these factors results in the blank entries you see on dock applications not updated to be fully compatible with Windows 10.
What's wrong with the Weather Docklet? I know it doesn't work, but why and is there a plan to fix it?

No plan at this time for a Weather Docklet fix.
