Dragging Fences to right create a new fences page !!!

Today, I will regroup all my fences that are on 2 pages on only 1 page.

I select the title of the fences in the second page and I drag it to the left.

I never seen the first page, but suddently the dragged fences is dropped in a NEW page.

I have now 3 pages !!!

Caution: the windows 10 Toolbar of my PC is on left border (not on bottom).

I have put Toolbar at bottom and I have dragged another fences ... and I have same problem !

I have installed Fences 3_09.

I have tested again and I have discovered that the fences is dragged in the correct page if I drag the fences to the right border of the left vertical toolbar.

If I drag the fences over toolbar or more to left (left border of vertical left toolbar), the fences is dropped in a new page placed at the more right position.

I think that it is a bug.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues. That is not a bug that is just how fences work on adding new desktop pages. When you move a fences or an Icon over the left or the right most border it will automatically create new desktop pages. If you've moved it by mistake you can just move back those icon or fences to its original location by dragging it or just do the restore layout. Or you can disable Desktop pages by un-select that "Enabled" checkbox.

Thanks

Hello,

Thanks for the answer.

But your implementation is a little tricky when Toolbar is placed on left border of screen.

Indeed, Fences move/drag works well when mouse is over right border of left vertical toolbar, BUT NOTHING happens when mouse is over left border of vertical left toolbar !

I know that you have made a choice in defining your API but I find this choice not optimal when toolbar is vertically defined.

Why Fences is not moved when cursor is OVER toolbar in dragging mode ?

If I will move fences in a new page, I can drag it over right screen limit.

Best regards

Are you saying that on your system, the fences or icon won't moved to the next desktop page if you have your taskbar, (you mentioned "toolbar" so I am not really sure), on the left (vertical state) when you move those fences over to the left. If so, than, that is strange. I have no problem moving it when I have my taskbar on the left.

Maybe I video of your problem could make it clearer.

Thank you,

yes, Toolbar in my post correspond to Windows TaskBar . Sorry to not using correct term.

On My PC the taskbar is on right border of screen.

To be precise, I distinct 4 cases

1. draging over right border of taskbar

2. draging over left border of taskbar

3. draging over taskbar

4. draging after left border

If I drag over right border and remain there 1 or 2 second, the fences is moved to the left page.

If I drag over taskbar, nothing happen

If I drag over left border of taskbar that is equivalent to left border of screen, nothing happen

If I drag more to the left, fences is moved to a new tab.

That is what I have experimented.

In fact, the first time I have dragged the Fences to the left. The mouse has certainly be over the right border of taskbar but to quickly so that program react and move Fences to left page.

I have then continues to drag the Fences more to the left.

Draging over Taskbar make nothing.

Draging over left border of taskbar make nothing.

Continue to drag more to the left move Fences to a new page.

That is what I have seen.

I hope that you can understand that this is a little disturbing to see that you try to move a Fences to the page just to the left and that suddenly the Fences has been moved to a new tab at the right ! :-)

Thats is why I find this feature bizarre/weird and not very natural for human.

This is just my personal opinion.

Still, I don't get the problem. On my system. With taskbar on the left vertical state.

1) When I just drag it but not crossing the taskbar ie. to the right of the taskbar. It won't move to the next desktop page.

2) When I just drag it just under the taskbar. It still won't move to the next desktop.

3) When I drag over to the left border of the screen, left of the taskbar border. Stay there for 1-2 secs it will moved to next desktop.

Still if you can produce a video capture of your problem.

Thank you,

just for your information, I have seen the same problem but invers.

When I drag and drop the taskbar so that taskbar are at bottom of screen, if I drag the fences to the left, the fences is move to the PC screen.

I have forgotten to say that all is done on a fix screen that is connected to a laptop.

I I continue to the left I can drag the fences in the laptop screen. Nothing happen until I drag the Fences after the left border. When this occurs, the first page is displayed on the fix screen and I must go to the right, cross completely the laptop screen and go to the fix screen to finally drop the fences to the first page.

I have no time today to do what you want but I will try to do that tomorrow.

I will try to record all theses things on my telephone :-)

Okay so you have two monitor setup. Can you also post how your monitor is setup on it. Something like below.

Please note that those square position there do effect how you move from monitor 1 to monitor 2 and location where the desktop actually ends.

Thank you,
