This ever happen to anyone? Need help, weird cursor problem.

Well first, did this ever happen to anyone? And I can't think of anything I put on here that would cause this.

Just started happening like 3 days ago: First 2 times with IE open, 3rd time with just Outlook Express open and 4th with IE again. I'll just be surfin and in one case with just Outlook Express open and I think with a right click, my cursor will fly to the right of the screen and stay there while only being able to move it up and down with me having to hit the reset button to get out of it.

Like I said, just some random click and the cursor will fly to the right of the screen while only being able to move it up and down. Now, I'm using Cursor XP and never had a problem but with a left click I have a small red circle effect, with a left double I have the fireball effect and with a right I have the plasma small effect. The cursor will be fine when not moved however when moving it up and down it's like I'm constantly right clicking and double clicking the left.

Weird. I can't keep makin restores you know and I'm blank as to why this is starting to happen. After the first time, I restored to 3 days previous with that obviously not resolving it. I have not changed anything or installed any new software and whatnot.



So, anybody heard of this? Know what's the problem?

I'm on XP Pro, AMD 750, 512 megs of ram and a GeForce 2.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! It just happened again. Jesus man, I'm gonna crash the shit out of my system.

I was on ProSound's site and clicked a thumbnail for a larger view and this time the cursor went to the top of the screen. If I move the mouse up and down the cursor will move left to right but smooth. If I try to move it left and right my effects start goin crazy and it doesn't wanna move.

I was wondering if you had a cordless but I can see you don't.

Have you checked to see if it happens with the cursorxp turned off?

If you have and it hasn't happened, when did you install CursorXP?
When did you do your latest Windows update?
These factors will help with getting to the root of your problem

One thing for sure your system is way more then capable of handling CursorXP.

I've seen a bad mouse do that.
This is probably asking the obvious, but have you tried a different mouse?

I believe its not cursor xp.. i think its rather mouse problem. I recommend any Microsoft mouse, never have any problems yet so far

And another thing, try checking the mouse plug that is at the end of your computer. Unplug it, clean (dust or whatever.. DON'T USE WATER!!) the place a bit, and then replug it. Then, try it again. I'm sure it'll work. If this didn't work, try new mouse or cursor xp (im pretty sure this isn't the software thats causing it.. mostly hardware problem or circuit error)

Hmmm, I've had cursor XP for a while (around 2 years). Right after my last post in this thread, it happened 3 more times in Windows Explorer.

I was about to try a different mouse but first I cleaned this one and uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers.

If anyone remembers my thread about IE and the 100% cpu usage, well in control panel when I tried to remove it, it said 'invalid inf file'. So I installed it on top of it.

So far so good (still problems with the 100% cpu usage though) and I forgot the hot keys to reboot so now I don't have to do a hard boot.

DON'T USE WATER!!)

The DJ, when I bought my Intellimouse Explorer mouse, I found the same problem you are finding. I move the mouse left, it went up, left, down, up some more, down again and then left. Turned out to be a defective mouse, so Microsoft sent me a new one. I dunno if you are having the same problems though. It might be a driver problem, or get a new mouse. Besides, what do you expect for $5.00!

I've had problem with my mouse and recent nvidia drivers with my geforce 2, I fixed the problem by downgrading to the last whql certified drivers for the geforce 2, which were the nvidia detonator drivers v40.72

Had the mouse problem again and rebooted using the window key -> U -> R

Booted back up and then my pc suddenly shut down. Wouldn't turn back on and thought power supply. Unhooked everything and found out my cd-rw drive and my backup hard drive were toast

Have done everything possible and looks like the cd drive cable was on fire or charged. Cannot get either back; when either are hooked up my computer will not boot up. Was only a 10 gig drive but had about 8 gigs of backups. Was using another cd-rw drive though and replaced the 10 gig with a 7 gig; the 10 gig will not start up.
