Since updating Windows 10 with the October 2018 update, Deskscapes will no longer work, my screens go black when I try to apply anything.

Sorry to hear you are having issues.
It is a Known Issue with win10 1809 with Multi Monitors and is being worked on for a fix.
In the mean time it is said that if you start all monitors in the same resolution of 1920x1080
Deskscapes will work then you can make a resolution change to a secondary monitor .
When a fix is ready all will be notified .
