LibreOffice instances are recognized by soffice.bin instead of soffice.exe

This creates a conflict when using the + button since clicking it opens soffice.bin with VLC

I started using Groupy with LibreOffice, but it groups its windows via soffice.bin.

The issue is that soffice.bin is recognized as a mediafile by VLC (it is a dvd file type) and when I press the New tab + button, instead of opening a new LibreOffice instance, it tries to open soffice.bin with VLC, promptly crashing it.

Does anyone knows of a workaround, or could a fix be provided?

It should open soffice.exe and not soffice.bin.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Your issue is similar with OpenOffice mentioned in this thread : https://forums.stardock.com/492519

I believe you can edit that saved group and replacing that "*.bin" files with appropriate "*.exe" for temporary workaround. I think Support team already know about the issue and pushing the problem to Dev Team for solution.

I tried that solution and it did not work.

LibreOffice is the perfect Office to showcase Groupy since all modules are interdependent, meaning that you can have Writer, Calc or Impress files opening in the same tab group automatically without having to resort to the grouping workaround necessary to have the same in Microsoft Office. If you guys make this compatible it would rock.

Furthermore, I checked the option to "Automatically group all 'soffice.bin' windows together" and it did not group them automatically when opening new documents from inside LibreOffice.
