Windows Defender

I have a KVM license and want to control a client-supplied laptop, it is protected by windows defender however even though I can see an entry for multiplicity in the firewall exclusions inserted by the installer it will not work unless I turn the WD firewall off altogether.

Both computers are on the latest Windows 10, my workstation can connect with my personal laptop just fine (ESET protects all my equipment).

Any ideas how to make this work without turning it off every time?

Hi guys, I've run that script. Rebooted but same story, I can only connect when I turn off all three firewall settings leaving it completely open.

Also checked the port settings listed on that page and they look identical.

I would suggest seeing if turning of ESet produces some positive results.  Again, you can see that MP is placing the rules for Windows Firewall, it has to be something that is blocking it (other AV products will often try to mirror Windows Firewall / Defender).

Unfortunately turning ESET firewall off didn't help either. This is why I don't use Defender myself, it's so unpredictable but unfortunately, on this occasion, I'm not at liberty to replace it as it's client equipment. Puzzling.
