I'd like some help with this scenario:

Seamless KM works between my two computers, but Video does not. It won't find the computer on the KVM tab, despite it existing on the Control tab.

I can move my mouse and keyboard between computers, but the KVM tab can't find the secondary computer..

Network setup is this:

FiOS gateway router --> PC1 (wired desktop)

FiOS gateway router --> Netgear Orbi wireless router --> PC2 (wireless laptop)

Any ideas?? I just upgraded to KVM license today and I can't get it to see my secondary computer. All of the screenshots I see on the matter have a KVM tab for the secondary, but I don't have that tab when I'm on Secondary mode. Is that just old screenshots?

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues.

Does that setup have each PC on its own subnet?

Hi AzDude, thanks for the new thread.

Does that setup have each PC on its own subnet? Probably.. but I'm not sure I know how to tell.

If I change my Orbi to an access point ( https://kb.netgear.com/31218/How-do-I-configure-my-Orbi-router-to-act-as-an-access-point ), do you think this would solve my problems?

To illustrate, I have one computer connected to #3 in that image and another computer connected to #4 in that image.

I tried port forwarding and DMZ host already.

That's about where my networking knowledge ends, unfortunately.

Thanks in advance

Looks like I fixed it and yes it was the fact that I was using the Netgear Orbi as a router instead of using it as an access point. (it's a toggle setting)

Thanks for your efforts.

To anyone else finding this in the future: if you have another device acting as a router that's connected to your main gateway router/cable modem/FiOS router... you are going to have issues unless everything is coming off of the same hub.
