I too am looking to upgrade my Steam version of Fences to the official website version. I am considering asking for a Refund. Because i -must- have Steam installed and running in order for fences to function. I am unhappy with my purchase because of this.
I did not expect a game-service like steam to hijack the rights of my desktop experience. Is there a way to upgrade my license from steam to pure non-steam Fences? Im willing to pay a little more to upgrade. but its also wrong to have to buy the full priced version when i already own and am dissatisfied with the steam version.
I have a valid working Steam-key version. and i can share that key with StardockSupportStaff to prove it. I am looking to upgrade my present license, or get a discount toward, a non-steam license.
Please post here or in a private message to me regarding this topic.
[ On a side note to the Fences Devs: PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE allow the fences (not folder portals) to also have the "view large icons" and "View in details mode" options that "Folder-Portals" possess. OR, at very least, allow your sorting rules for Fences, to apply their sorting and organization options toward actually-moving files to designated folders or folder portals. This half-way between on both aspects, is crippling the capacity of your software! Crippling it! neither your fences, nor your folder portals, fully have the features of the other. Half-assed feature sets will compel modders and programers LIKE ME toward making competitive opensource software that completes the job your software hints at and falls short of. ]
