Is it possible to get the audio sharing feature to work with a 5.1 surround sound system?

Audio Question re: multiplicty

Using Multiplicity on several computers, but recently upgraded to a 5.1 surround sound system, the audio only comes through on the left and right speakers.

Computer A is the master computer that runs the keyboard/mouse, but I have it's audio sharing to Computer B with the 5.1 surround sound system.  The 5.1 surround sound works by itself with media on Computer B.  Multiplicity does not really have any options.

Computer A does not have the additional audio ports to support 5.1 so that is the reason for using the audio streaming from A-->B.

If the computer you are playing the sound on is configured for stereo only then that's all MP will send to the other computer as that's all that exists.

If you set computer A to believe it has 5.1 then it may well send 5.1 to computer B.

I think this might highlight the issue, since Computer A doesn't have the audio ports to support 5.1 it may not be possible to set Computer A to 5.1 (I can do it in some programs like AC3Filter while videos are playing, or in the media player itself, but Computer A's playback device as a windows system will not set to 5.1 since it does not detect 5.1.

Thanks for the ideas, but it doesn't seem to work (but it may not be possible).  I might just put in a video switcher to put Computer B on Computer A's screen instead of changing cables to get the big screen and good speakers.
