Invisible mouse cursor after crash

When I'm in a KVM session that crashes my mouse pointer for "Normal Select" remains/becomes invisible.

Fix: Go to Mouse Settings, select a different pointer scheme, apply, select the usual point scheme apply again, done.

I doubt "fixing" this is easy, since it's the process crashing which prevents it from resetting the pointer to be visible again, but perhaps an option to disable making the pointer invisible in the first place? Assuming that would only results in visual artifacts, that is.
