Fences always goes back to monitor 1 in multi-monitor setup after driver refresh

So the title kind of says it in a nutshell.  I have all my fences on my 3rd monitor, which is to the right of my main.

I have Preserve my desktop layout by storing my fence's positions on per-screen basis selected and even take a snapshot before, restoring the snapshot does not move it back to the correct monitor.

Not sure how to fix it, quite annoying when doing every Nvidia driver update.

well it looks like Fences 3 fixes it, so I just updated, so nvm.

no, unfortunately it does not.
Having the same problem and each graphics card driver update making me having to rebuild my fences which is super annoying and having me looking for answers only to be finding that apparently a lot of people having this issue without any solution and the developer obviously not taking care of it at all is very disappointing.
Stardock, for real?

please release an update solving that issue!

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please try this and report back.

  • 'Reset' saved settings and set the 'Store' option:
  • Create a new snapshot with things where you want them.
  • Perform an 'automatic layout':
  • Restore the snapshot

Thanks. Hope it works. I will only see after the next graphics card driver update though.

But in any case it would be great if you could make fences positioning resistant against graphic card driver updates.

Same problem for years with 5 28" monitors.  The "perform automatic layout" just screws up more making separate for various types of files, which is not how I am laid out with 8 fences for different on 4 screens with lots of things in each.  4 monitors on NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 and one on USB.

After did perform auto layout, was able to get it to restore back to just had it.

In addition to whenever the graphics driver is updated sometimes but not always I lose positions on reboot as it just did which led me here.  Settings are as suggested above

Other than when have to reposition fences I love it and have had for years.

I'm ready to give up - I've tried various solutions and now the above - the result being my FOLDER fence resized itself to being 75% smaller and my RPi fence disappeared altogethr from my 2 hdmi screens (Win 11). Good idea but.

You sure it just not moved to another Fences desktop page? A simple Snapshot layout restore should resolve that issue. or disable Fences desktop page.

Thank you,

Wouldn't all this be able to be solved if we were able to set the arrangement the monitors are to be displayed in, inside fences settings? Because that's what it seems like is messing everything up.
