ObjectDock: Sometimes the dock does not appear

Hi. I have a problem with the objectdock.

I have configured my dock to hide automatically and click when I put the cursor down on the taskbar, but there are times when it does not appear so that you put the cursor down the taskbar and do not know how to solve it.

Years ago when I did not have internet a friend I passed an old test version of the objectdock and it worked great, not a single error, it was practical and its functions are wonderful, so I bought it. This tool has become indispensable in my work and I depend a lot on it.

My complaint is that I have windows 10 64 bits 1709 and other co-workers also, but they have downloaded from third sites an old version of this dock and have no problem and I have paid for a newer and legal version have problems and It does not seem fair to me.

Like I said I love this program and I do not want to download an illegitimate version just so it works well for me. So I ask you please to help me solve it

At this time ObjectDock isn't supported in Windows 10

it may or may not work for you for some it does.

One thing you can try, if you like, is to check the "Temporarily disable all docklets" showing in your 3rd picture above.  Run it for awhile, then if the problem goes away you can try to figure out which docklet(s) you're having a problem with and remove it.  I don't know that a docklet problem would cause your issue, but it is a relatively easy thing to try and a decent place to start.

I just bought Object Desktop, and boy am I disappointed. Half the apps that shipped with it don't work with Win 10 (and it's been out what, 3 years?).

Sure would be nice if that information was made crystal clear on the website instead of being hidden in an obscure forum post. But it's ok, I've got thousands of Twitter followers.

Most apps included with Object Desktop are compatible with Windows 10. What apps are you specifically talking about?

ObjectDock is not part of Object Desktop.

Yes, I know it isn't. I had to buy it separately, after trying it out for a couple weeks. The quick launch docks are buggy, but the tabbed docks are just what I wanted. Deskscapes8 work well surprisingly. Would love to find more effects for it or at least a manual on how to make them.

There were a few Win 8 apps included which I figured wouldn't run under 10. I didn't pay that much attention to the list because there were only I few items I really wanted.

Decor8, IconDeveloper, ModernMix, SoundPackager (darn!), Tweak7 were the others the Desktop Manager listed.

I haven't tried Fences 3 (tried it out before though, not something I'm interested in atm). Haven't had time to look at Launch, Multiplicity 3KM, SpaceMonger 3, Start10, Tiles & FX 6 yet. Tiles looks interesting.

You're missing the point though. I ran an online business for years. The golden rule is THE CUSTOMER COMES FIRST. You shouldn't even have to think about whether this is critical information for your buyers.

Fear not.....even Microsoft has 'issues' with programs that don't work in Win 10.

Think 'Edge'.  It doesn't work either.

....and they've had 3 years to get it to work...;)

[kinda says a lot about just how good Win 10 is as a stable, reliable OS for which to code].

As a developer: bloody nightmare! I think Microsoft should change Windows 10's tagline to 'What are we going to break next?'

I went back to an old version (2.0), it seems to be working, plus I feel it is a bit lighter. In the future I will inform how this version works in windows 10.

sorry for my english

Hello again.

I have been testing version 2.0 in these last days and I have no problem in windows 10. I recommend using this version and not update until the problem is resolved

Hanging delays (Win 7, 10)

I am a long time user of ObjectDock ver 1.0… but ObjectDock ver 2.0 not so much …

I have tried your suggestion of stopping/renaming these 2 files, dock64.exe and dock64.dll to dock64.exe.bak and dock64.dll to dock64.dll.bak

(This WORKED for me … It is working GREAT now … Other programs are also more responsive also. JAM)

It does show improvement, less lag, but the lag is still there.  If I didn't remember how instantaneous Object Dock can be after launching programs and with even more shortcuts this would be less obvious to me.  I just know how great this Dock app can be.

For the time being I'm leaving those 2 files stopped/renamed. Have not yet seen any negative impact.

Thanks for your great input suggestion!
