Behavior of icons not in fences

I have all my icons in fences...except for the Recycle Bin. It sits at the default upper-left corner of my monitor. I want it in the lower-right corner. When I drag it there, it returns to the upper-left. Is there a way [other than putting it in a fence] to make it stay where I put it?

Right Click anywhere on desktop -> view -> un select "Auto arrange icons"

Duh! Worked like a charm...I wonder why installing Fences changed that behavior?
