How do I disable the Crisis feature in Intrigue?

I like the Intrigue expansion, except I'm not thrilled with the Crisis feature. In three games I have twice had the space monster show up and each time I managed to not win the crisis and lost a planet. I find that the mechanism of dealing with the crisis, getting two screens each with three options, is rather off-putting compared to the rest of the detail in the game. I'd rather just play Intrigue without this feature but I can't seem to find a way to turn it off. Can this in fact be done, disabling the Crisis feature? If not, then it really ought to be made an option.

You can always create a mod version and remove the offending crisis-es.

Bout the only way.

I don't know for sure but they may be tied with Mega Events.  If not, I'll request a new option.

It's not tied to Mega Events as I have that set to None in my current game and the Crisis still appeared.

Yes, please request this to be made an Intrigue option. In my first few Intrigue games I'd like to minimize these outlier events. Thanks!

Odd..   here I was wishing they were more common.   or some sort of government choice thing like them.

I love the idea of the crises, but so far I am 0-5, every single one has resulted in failure. Are they meant to be this hard to pass?

I love the one where you discover that you are actually a simulation and try to make contact with the being running the simulation...   the humor is really good.  though I failed horribly and had my world blow up.

I've had a few of these start, but I can never tell how many of them are active at a time (can you have more than one active) or when they finish (e.g. if you fail the negotiation with the brain parasites and get a hit to approval on a planet, is that the end of it?).  Do the crises always say "Meanwhile ..." when they start?

I have both won some and lost some.  I do like the crises, they add something more to the game for me.
