Roll-dwon vs roll-up

I cannot figure out how to force the Fence to roll (or collapse) DOWN in to the Fence bar.

Somehow, I have only one Fence, located at the bottom edge of the screen, which when rolled over will expand UP into the display to show the icons.

All the rest expand DOWN (like the Fences in the middle and top of the screen).

Not being able to roll the icon field DOWN in to the Fence bar makes the lower 1/4 of the PC's screen useless for Fence-features as putting a Fence at the lower edge and then the icon field expands off screen.

Thanks.

Yes, I know -- works fine.  BUT, I need to control the DIRECTION of rolling.  As the screen shot you attached shows, there is no direction control on the expansion.

As request stated, Fence bars located at the bottom of the PC's screen need to expand UP and the Fence bars located at the top of the PC's screen need to expand DOWN.  There is no way to control the direction.  All but one of my 8 Fence bars expand down from the title bar.  Only one (I have no idea how that got set) will expand up from the title bar -- which makes it then useful to be at the lower edge of the PC screen.

Not 'wrong' if the Fence is near the top, you can see that too if you move one there.

There is no control to change the direction of the expand.  If a Fences is near the top of the monitor, it will expand down - near the bottom, up.

Agree, there is no button or selection to make to control the direction.

Therefore, Fences 3.0.8.1 has a bug in that the direction of roll appears to be determined by some odd sequence/location of initiation of a Fence bar.  Thirty minuets ago I  made a new Fence bar, moved it to the very, very bottom of screen and then moved links over to it.  THAT one (after several hours earlier doing the same thing making 3 others that would NOT expand up from bottom of screen) expanded up.  I just tried to duplicate my actions and the Fence bar at the very lower edge only would expand down such that the contents cannot be viewed.

By definition: a feature that occurs/functions differently from one initiation to another is a bug.  Or at least an inadequately written SW script.

I have a similar/same issue where, perhaps when docking/undocking may laptop or plugging in another monitor, the fences "docked" at the bottom that typically expand upward (where the header sits at the bottom and moves upwards to expand the fence) seem to forget they are "docked" at the bottom, and the header stays mid-screen and the fence then expand downwards when I hover.

I have to move the header right to left and let go, and then the fence re-"docks" to the bottom of the screen and the header sits at the bottom of the screen again as expected when the fence is collapsed.

This is extremely annoying. Please fix, devs!!

It seems I'm having this same problem as first posting.  I'm trying to position my fences and they have 'snapped' to the bottom and are now 'rolling' up not down as I would like.  also I cannot find the 'lock fence' as shown above.

any input appreciated.

If your Fences are unlocked just move to the edge then they will roll up or down if not on an edge.

Thought I had this problem but I realized after a while what I was doing wrong.

Don“t know if everyone else posting here has done the same... but you need to move the bottom of the whole window to the edge of the screen and release it there for it to collapse down, not the bottom edge of the Fence bar as I did.

Would be nice if that was clearly explained in the configuration window somewhere.

This doesn't work for me.  Expanded the bottom of the window all the way to the bottom of the screen but it doesn't change orientation and still keeps the title bar at the top and rolls downward.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues. But to have the Fence title at the bottom you will need to have your fences move up and touche the top screen border. Only than the Title bar will be shift to the bottom.

Yes, that works.  But how do I position it at the bottom of my screen, while still having it set to roll upward?  This only allows rolling up if the title bar is at the top of the monitor screen, but switches immediately when I move it downward, as I want to position it at the bottom of the screen.

I don't think that would work. Fences only shift the title bar down when its at the top edge of the monitor. And it will switch back to top if its move anywhere else.

So it's only the title bar that moves up.

Yes, if the fences at the bottom. The title will be at the edge. But, when you mouse over it. It will move/roll up to reveal the fence area.

Thank you,

Quick question though, since it allows having the title bar at the bottom when the window is at the top of the screen, perhaps the feature in reverse can be added (ie. if the window is brought to the bottom of the screen, title bar is inverted and put at the bottom, then have the window roll upwards).

I am sure someone already asked for this feature. But, I have forwarded your request to the Stardock support team for their review and recommendations. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We really do appreciate your feedback, Thanks.
