Where do I find saved groups other than the three dot menu?

It says to find saved groups somewhere other than the three dot menu - but I can't find that. Would like to be able to open a group e.g. from the start menu etc. Note: I use Classic Start Menu under Win 10

Hello,

Usually what I do is open any window explorer and click on the 3 dot menu and open saves group. Maybe someone else can offer a faster solution.

Groupy still very much behaves like a solitary app and does not integrate much with the regular interface. I think what many people generally request is a more natural way to use the features. Like: accessing groups from the taskbar, startmenu or tray; closing groups or windows etc.

The usage of tabs is expected to behave like well known from browsers where the feature is used most. Like: accessing tab-options via context-menu of the tab etc.

I am not quite sure why Stardock decides to solve most things via the three dot menu, that could be integrated more naturally in any element, that is provided by Groupy anyway. I find it better to "pave the cow paths" ;)

Groupy saved groups are accessible from the start menu under the saved groups entry.  This shows up in the standard Windows 10 start menu and Stardock Start10/8 and I believe the Windows 7 start menu as well.  I cannot say for other third party menus as it will depend on how they coded them.

Regarding accessing the right click menu, for Groupy 1.11 this will also be accessible by right clicking on a tab as well as from the ... menu button.

Ah, found it... :) It's there. Pinning it to the taskbar does not work well, but pinning to the startmenu does...

Now only when opening a saved group that has "modern" Apps mixed with Desktop-Apps they all open, but the "modern" Apps are not grouped.

Also maybe when opening a saved group where one App is already running could open the other two and integrate them into the running window... :)

Same for me.

Saved groups are opening the programs in the normal separate windows.

They are not grouped so I don't see the point really.

Which applications are not relaunching grouped for you?

I tried to group Affinity Apps, Photo and Designer, Grouping looks great as they are closely integrated anyway, but a saved group does not work well.

Also I grouped Win10 calendar, WhatsApp, and the mail client (Wavebox) - again they group well, but open separately if opened again as a saved group.

Are the affinity apps purchased from the MS store or are they standard Windows applications from their own store?

They are standard Windows desktop apps, they are integrated in a similar way as MS Office Apps, making them a kind of "Suite" if both installed (more to come with Publisher).

Trying to open them as a saved group produced errors and they started both, but ungrouped. I can't reproduce it now, because Groupy is uninstalled until it has reached a more "consistent" level. The idea remains intriguing ;)

The issue with Mailwasher Pro appears to be the same as the issue with VisualStudio and Affinity Photo so the next update should have a fix for that.

Regarding outlook, is that only grouped with Mailwasher Pro and thus the fact Mailwasher Pro is not grouping means it has nothing to group with, or is it failing to group with other things too?

I am pleased to say the root issue in why those applications are not grouping has been discovered and the next update should resolve this for you.  Each window was a little more unique each time it opened than anticipated which is why they were not grouped automatically.

Outlook will group just fine with say notebook where MailWasher Pro won't and other groups have worked for me just file so it looks like only MailWasher Pro is my problem.

I'm sure millions of your clients use MailWasher Pro :-)
