Focus after closing a tab

If you switch from a non-group application to a tabbed application and close the tab, the focus switches back to your last focused application.

It would be nice if, when closing a tab, the application/tab to the right (or when it is the rightmost tab: the tab to the left) would automatically receive the focus, similar to how tabs in the browser work. Maybe not by default, but as an option. :-)
