Ashampoo

The information on Ashampoo, Backup Pro 11, is very inadequate, I wish to know a little more, and can find no way to ask other than this forum.

1. How does the license agreement read: Does one need a licensed copy per machine performing a backup, or is a license good for a household, or ??

2. What media is allowed for the backup source? USB drive, network drive, etc.

3. Do all backups create a disk image, or is another format also supported?

4. Is the backup of selected files, folders, drives, & etc. supported.

5. Does the backup follow shortcuts, symbolic links, or hard links. If so, is it configurable, i.e. can it be enabled or disabled?

6. How many previous versions of a file are kept and how long are they kept. Is it configurable?

7. Does the system do garbage collection, and pruning of deleted files?

8. If a disk image is the backup format, does the system compact the disk image following multiple backups, or does the image just keep growing.  Also related to question 7.

9. Is compression used in creating the backup, if so is it optional?

10. Is encryption used in creating the backup, if so what kind, and is it optional?

11. Do you have a trial version?

12. If the backup destination is replaced with one that was created a month ago, will the software recover and bring that destination up to date with the current state of files, folders, etc.
13. Any comments you would like to add? I am very interested in your product, but just need to know a little more.
