Unable to install Fences: Internet explorer 8 or above is required

Cut down version of windows 10 in use

Hi, As noted above, I can't install Fences 3.05 as the installer is telling me I need internet explorer 8 or above.  I'm using a cut down version of win 10 minus microsoft's bloatware which I won't install (including explorer).  Is there a way around this?

Hello martinic1,

I use Firefox and have no problem with it..

It sounds like your install of Windows 10 is broken.

I imagine the cutting down took out essential windows files, one of which is the MS WebBrowser control.  This is a guaranteed component of Windows so removing it would have consequences as applications that need to show HTML may use it as it saves shipping a very bloated copy of Chromium engine for example.
