How do I get previous version?

This is broken

After updating Fences, I can no longer extend my desktop. I lost all of my Fences as well, but that isn't such a big deal. Having multiple desktops is very important to me, however. I need to roll this back. It's broken.

Thanks

I need to do this too. I just updated fences and my whole windows desktop went to Hades, so to speak.

Please, EVERYBODY, use system restore to make a restore point BEFORE you upgrade Fences. I did not: huge mistake. Nightmare!

The ap called BugSplat is a terrible idea because it pops up automatically and is a bear to close. If you can't close it then you cannot remove Fences in Windows Programs and Features part of Control Panel. And there are times it is necessary to uninstall and then reinstall Fences. This is hard to do because of bugSplat dll being open and preventing this being done.

I found Fences 3.0 and reinstalled that and now it all works well and stable, everything is fine. It was Fences 3.05 that caused all the problems. I would use System Restore before trying version 3.05. On my system it just causes many problems, whereas 3.0 is fine and without issues.

The issues I had with 3.05 are two:

1

The 'configure fences' click spot did appear as it should with a right mouse click when 3.05 first started. But once you reconfigured Fences then that 'configure fences' click spot would not appear with a right mouse click. I had the rollup feature unchecked and therefore many fences were open and there was no way to close them. And no way to reconfigure to get the rollup feature to work. Basically, this made Windows almost unusable.

2

In trying to uninstall Fences temporarily it could not be done because the Bugsplat program was running and could not be closed. Not even with Windows Task Manager. This prevented uninstalling Fences completely.

But doing a partial uninstall of fences 3.05 and then reinstalling 3.00 restored Fences to running properly. I have always found Fences to be a great program and still do. I will avoid 3.05.

I too can't believe how irresponsible it is on this "upgrade" thing. All the fences are gone, and "auto hide" is down.  I don't even know what is the "upgrade" part on the version 3.0.7.6 other than the total mess I get! It's outraging.

We have rolled back 3.07 on Steam so that we can address some issues. If you uninstall, reboot, then reinstall, you will get 3.05.

Running 3.07, I got your Bugsplat popup, which has no indication of where it came from. (My Fences was still working, hadn't "crashed.")

Tracing from Task Manager I found that is was your offensively stupid software/decision.  I uninstalled 3.07, including deleting the Bugsplat remnants, and reinstalled 3.05, only to find that it's also included in 3.05.

Maybe it's been there for years, and only now some flaw in 3.07 brought it to light.  I don't care, get rid of it.  You obviously can't be trusted to use it responsibly ... for example an option in "Configure Fences" to disable it, or at a minimum a different skin on it to indicate it's your software and not malware.

Including it is clearly doing you more harm than good.  Get rid of it or I'm done with Stardock.

How do I remove bugsplat? I won't click on it because i trust nothing that pops up on my screen, I don't care where it came from. I've never seen it before, never want to see it again, and want it off my PC forever.

Fences  just today popped up a window suggesting upgrading to new version. It would not install. A message said incorrect filename.

I would warn anyone thinking of buying Fences. It used to be good, now it is not. I suggest not buying it until they can release a stable version that will install and upgrade without issues.
