start up problem Windows 10

I am using Windows 10 Home, version 1709 (OS build 16299.192) and Stardock Fences 3.0.5.12

The problem I have, is that Windows does not start up properly. I get a black screen and nothing happens.

When I restart everything seems to be normal and I get the Fences on my screen.

Obviously, this is very annoying and I wonder if anybody can give me an explanation and solution for this behaviour.

Many thanks for your suggestion.

I will let you know the next couple of days if this trial is the solution for my issue with fences.

For the time being, fingers crossed, windows is starting up fine with fences.

Unfortunately, this afternoon again similar issue occurred. This morning, however, no problem, so it seems to occur quite randomly.

Much can depend on other services / apps that are also part of the startup... Fences needs to wait in line behind them at times...

After the update of Fences which I received end of last week, it seems to have improved. Up till now, I have had no black screens or other trouble when starting my PC.

One week later, still no issues anymore with the startup of my PC.
