[Solved] Fences 3 can not moved desktop icons - Very bad assist from Helpdesk
Hi,
I have about 400 desktop icons on my 40'' monitor 4k resolution. A program like fences makes my desktop more organized and more flexible.
On September i decide to upgrade my Fences to v3 in order to have full windows 10 support.
The last 2 weeks was hard for me and my desktop because i couldn't move any of my desktop icons, so i did a fast google search to find a fix unfortunately without success.
I decide to open and sent a ticket (SSA-399-99806) hoping that someone will be interesting and help me about my issues but UNFORTUNATELY i got automatically replies with confused links including different versions of OS even if i had already sent that I'm using Windows 10. I tried to follow their instructions but nothing was solved.
As the Helpdesk decide to stop assist me (and suggested me to call my IT because they say I was in a corporate environment ??) i did a better search on internet about this error and tried lot of things like restarting explorer.exe on task manager, reinstall drivers, reinstall antivirus, reinstall fences etc. but nothing solved about my locked desktop icons while using fences.
Until i realize that many users roll back to previous versions due to a luck of lag.
So i decide to install 3.0.3 and all worked fine!!
I want to suggest to Helpdesk to be more helpful with the people that they paid for their product, to stop give automatically and confused links and to stop tell people to download the latest version of fences.
I want also to verify that with [right click on desktop -> View -> Lock Fences] this option lock THE FENCES AND NOT THE ICONS!
After this bad experience i had, i decide to keep fences but never buy again something from Stardock due to the luck of Helpdesk assist
