Why no listview for normal fence?

why no ability to view list view in a fence - when it can be done in a folder portal?

please help!!

I really like the ability Fences has given me to organize my display, but I have a dire need to condense my fence contents to list view as opposed to the classic view.  The classic view does not offer enough room for my desired items to be in a fence without it having to scroll.

If this option exists in a folder portal, I don't understand why it can't be offered for a 'normal' fence.

The folder portal won't work as an alternative because the fence items are not stored in a single folder.

Is there any way to do this in the current version?

Are there any plans to include this feature in a future release?

Sincerely,

crowded desktop!!!

Because folder portals use some of the engine of Explorer which is not possible on the desktop level.

This may have been a satisfactory answer a decade ago - but there have been so many requests for it - it is hard to believe you would not be looking for another option.  I have been in IT for over 25 years and am very familiar with the many ways to get around windows native settings.

Are there really NO plans to resolve this matter?

The icons in Fences are just the icons from the Desktop.   Windows only offers Small, Medium and Large icon view choices on the Desktop.

The list view you want is a Windows Folder property.

Whether or not that folder property could be added to Desktop level icons sounds like a significant change to Explorer Desktop properties.

Have you seen any other programs that can do that myvmartin?

Ctrl+Shift+5 through 6 is built in list view of desktop icons. When I perform this view my icons in the fence disappear.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Could you show us a video of this happening. I can't reproduce it on my fences.

Thanks

I also really like the list view offered by the folder portal, and would like to see this functionality added to fences.

Alternatively, if I could assign all new icons to a folder portal, that would solve my problem as well.

Ultimately, I need something where all new icons show up, and are organized in large icon list view.  (please)

Thanks!!!

Hoping to get some more recent responses to my original question....

Does anyone know if this has been addressed by Stardock - if so is it on a feature list for future?

i'm curious - would like to know if anyone other than me is still tracking this??
