Group on taskbar

It would be helpful if the Groupy group was also grouped as a single item on the Windows taskbar.

I 100% agree.

That's actually why I planned to buy it, to consolidate the taskbar clutter.

I can see no option for this in the 30 day trial.  I would buy it if this option was offered.

Not having them grouped on the taskbar also causes strange behavior on multi-monitor systems.

If you create a group and move the group from one monitor to another, only the application that has focus within the group is moved on the Windows taskbar.  If you select a different application within the group, your group jumps to the other monitor

Agree, would also like this as an option - not fixed standard, but as an option, as in different scenarios it may be preferrable to not group the apps on the taskbar.

A stop-gap fix for the multi-monitor problem I mentioned...

When a group is moved from one monitor to another, move all of the applications within the group to the new monitor.

How are you moving windows between monitors and are these normal or maximized windows?

Same here, I bought it thinking it would free up the taskbar clutter... only to be disappointed after finding out it doesn't.

For the upcoming 1.01 release we have added an option for Windows 8/10 where only the currently active tab is shown on the taskbar.  I.e. other windows in the group are hidden from the taskbar.  Switching tabs will switch which button is shown on the taskbar.

This will be enabled via the More settings button on the Visuals page in the Groupy configuration window.

1.01 is not yet out but hopefully will be this week.

Any chance of giving a group a label and showing that label on the taskbar and on-click go to the last active tab and on mouse-over show a preview of all grouped applications?

1.01 is internal currently.  Sorry I should have made my post more clear on that.

Hopefully we will release it this coming week.

Sorry for the delay.

Yes...between monitors.
Yes...maximized.

There seem to be some applications that create this problem.

If I have WinSCP as one of the grouped applications and WinSCP has focus within the group, the other applications within the group do not move with the group when moving the group to a different monitor.

Same set of applications grouped, but a different application with focus within the group...no problem.

How to group?

I don't find in groupy settings. The point is Windows grouping same application together, but groupy can group different application as a tab.

Can it be the same under taskbar?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Try this.

I second ZubaZ's suggestion (Reply #8) to have an option to show only one taskbar icon per group and giving that icon a label that identifies the group (perhaps the saved group name if there is one).  It also would be nice if Groupy had it's own icon for the taskbar instead of using the active tab icon.  I often just want to find the group on the taskbar and don't necessarily remember the name or type of the active tab (since I am now thinking in terms of the group, not the individual tabs).

Rtuite (Reply #2) at https://forums.stardock.com/497258/suggestion-option-to-group-task-bar-icons had a similar suggestion for the icon, even suggesting allowing a user selectable icon for each group.

Thanks.
