Selecting text on 2nd machine causes lag

I recently started using multiplicity and I am having lag (that is the simplest term).

When I select text (hold left mouse button and drag over text) the mouse moves slowly and I lose most of the control.  if I don't touch the mouse it will continue in the same direction slowly, if I move the mouse and click it will occasionally change direction but it doesn't register the click.

if I click and move the mouse enough it will usually stop however since I lost control it never selects the right set of text.

Anyone else see this?  Anyone have a fix?  I have reloaded Multiplicity on both machines and have been through multiple reboots.

I am running windows 10 on both systems.  Both are physically connected to the same network and subnet.  I have tried different interfaces, different switches, and even back-to-back ethernet.
