When motion left I wrote and asked why. This is his answer in part:

"Lately I have found myself questioning the validity of such casual persuits as skinning. There are so many more important, serious things in this world. Now a man entering my mid forties, I've started looking for deeper answers and greater truths. Kind of like Larry in Maugham's "The Razor's Edge", I'm on a spiritual quest. I don't know how long I'll be 'away'. "

He went on to say that he and his wife would be going to Israel to live on a kibutz, they had the trip booked. I got the impression that this was only the first leg of what might be a long journey. He didn't know when or if he would come back.

I miss him.

The first leg of my "Journey" took 11 years.
Didn't travel far, yet discovered places that were timeless and endless.
Looking forward in continuing it, but this time I will be traveling "Light".

Thanks, goodmorphing.
I'm surprised that Tim deleted all of his skins. I don't know why he would do that.
As for "coming back", all he has to do is get an internet connection.
But I can easily understand losing interest in skinning.

Hi White_Moth,
I'm on an endless "journey" myself, and I'm planning to travel light the next time I have to move. I'm no longer accumulating stuff, but I still have some junk left over from the past. Like Motion, I'm on a spiritual quest too.

Yeah, I miss motion too. Got sort of the same reply as what GM got. His blinds were nice. I hope he learns what he is searching for.

smart people know that if they ever catch up to what they're searching for, it will in some ways be a serious disappointment, so they don't go. smarter people realize that despite the ultimate disappointment, the trip will be interesting enough along the way to make the journey worthwhile.
