Can't click on icons in fences to bring up program

I am using Fences 3.0.5.11 and Windows 10, and if I click on a program icon in a Fence, nothing happens. I have to right-click to bring up a menu and click Open to get the program to run.

If I double-click, the Fences disappear.

How is this supposed to work?
