Fences and the Quick-hide failure

once bitten, twice shy

I decided to try Fences and then spent over an hour trying to figure out what happened to my desktop icons after inadvertently hiding them (either with the escape key or a double click on the desktop, not sure which).  I've worked in web design and development for years - if my company ever shipped Fences with Quick-hide enabled by default, the Product Manager would've been fired for incompetence.  Shipping with this feature enabled creates a potential for a "data loss" condition from the user perspective: there is no warning or alert, no confirmation, and it's not intuitive which program caused the icons to disappear - much less how to get them back.  I've lost a lot of confidence in Stardock because of the frustration and time loss I've suffered due to the Quick-hide blunder.  I'm now disinclined to purchase any product from StarFlop - the annoyance company.

On the first instance of double-click to hide an alert is displayed to the user explaining what happened.

This alert will show every time unless the user disables it.

Perhaps it broke for you.
