Fences 2.12 trial upgrade

I currently am using Fences 2.12 on Windows 10 on a trial. I would like to upgrade to 3.5, do I need to uninstall 2.12 or will it overwrite without problems and work ok?

It's best to uninstall. Your settings should be preserved
