Fix for Mis-Aligned Title Bars on Windows 7

Hello All, This is a very quick and simple Fix for broken Title bars you may have. An example Screenshot can be seen here. If you have this issue, All you have to do is go to Settings, and check "Do not use per pixel frames even if the style supplies them" Not sure why this was enabled by default, but checking that can fix the issue. at least on my end it did.

--Original Issue--

Hello all, Win 7 user here (should probably bite the bullet and go Win 10) I have a particularly annoying issue. This happens with pretty much any skin I use. As you can see in the screenshot, the Right edges and title bars don't line up. I can re-apply the theme, which will temporarily fix it, but it'll eventually break again. While it doesn't completely ruin the functionality other than I can't resize on those edges, it just looks pretty bad.

Anyone have a clue what may be causing this?

Screenshot can be seen here.

Have no idea what your reason is for the above statement. What does your problem have to do with the OS you are using or what anyone else is using. I happen to have win 7/8 on one computer and win 10 on another. don't have the problem you show with any OS. I have however had it a couple times over the years here. All I ever did is close and open Explorer again. Never had to re apply the WB.

If you don't get you answer here I suggest you write support. If you write support be sure to tell them what OS you are running.

By the looks of your screenshot you are having an issue caused by Windows 7 itself, probably a corrupt system file.

Please apply the default Windows 7 skin in Windowblinds and then unload Windowblinds.

Next, open up an administrative command prompt and type in sfc /scannow and press enter. After the system file check completes, reboot your computer, load Windowblinds and apply a skin and see if that resolves your issue.

I think he was saying HE should update to Windows 10.  The "all" was part of "hello all".

Curious as to which windowblind is being used, not sure that I have seen this one before, and the condition happens regardless of blind. Would you mind posting another picture with a different blind that shows that condition.

Can't be a corrupt Filesystem, I've had this happen since a clean install, mostly dealt with it before coming this way. I've also reinstalled multiple times due to multiple HDD failures in a row (such luck) The glitch has also happened on the previous Installations as well. All win 7 x64 Professional, same with my laptop before I updated it to win 10, which so far hasn't seen this issue. Aside from WB and Iconpackger, I'm running pretty much vanilla (as in no UXTheme Patch) with Games, usual utilities and stranded files salvaged from a Dying HDD.

This "mis-alignment" only happens on certain windows, as in the screenshot, only Explorer windows were affected. firefox was perfectly fine. When it breaks, it's only that side that does. the buttons still function normally. At this moment using it, everything is fine. I believe it only occurs after Resume from Hibernate, quitting a game, resolution change, etc etc; It catches me off guard.

If the issue bothers me enough, I'll see what Support can do. for now, if none of y'all are having this bug (should see if an update is available)

Info from the "About" section if anyone's interested

Windows 7 Professional (7601.win7sp1_ldr.170209-0600)
WindowBlinds 10.62 (044 - Windows 7 Edition) - 64 bit OS

No updates currently as of writing this.

Sorry if I don't make much sense.

What version of WindowBlinds are you running?

Sorry, I seem to have overlooked it in reply 5.

Haha it's fine. I THINK I may have found a Fix, Haven't had the glitch happen again so far, could be wrong and it happens when I get back from work and resume from hibernate, just to troll me.

Under "Settings" and checking "Do not use per pixel frames even if the style supplies them" seems to do the trick so far. I'll likely update if it didn't resolve this issue. If nothing breaks in the course of a few days, I'll update the OP and Title as a potential Fix. Probably was something so simple this whole time. lmao

That doesn't really fix it ffestevenlee, all that does is force the skin to use the UIS2 frames instead of the per pixel ones. Since no one else has mentioned having this issue it has to be something specific to your system. I realize that maybe this was a clean install, but I still recommend doing the sfc /scannow in an administrative command prompt window and rebooting when it completes. It can't hurt anything to try.

True. though using UIS2 frames, the issue has completely disappeared for me. I'll go ahead and run System File Checker anyways.

UIS2 Frames do not have the same transparency qualities. -I would Never use them :cylon:
