Folder Portals not updating

Hello to all.

I've just acquired my copy of Stardocks Fences and I have to say, seeing that folder portals did not update instantly was really a disappointment..

You end up with incoherent scenarios where the portal shows files that are not here anymore, you have to manually refresh the portal to have it show your new files, it really ruins the whole point of a productivity software. I am trying to use Fences to visualize folder such as the download one, and it's really unsatisfying to have to refresh the portal everytime you download something.

Was anyone experiencing this / is it normal / is there a fix ? 

For reference, I am using Windows 10 home edition.

Are you pointing to a networked directory or are the portal fences pointing to a directory local to your PC?  Fences should be updating as things change.

I am pointing to the 'usual' Download folder.

But I think I got it. I was using the "shortcut" version, the one you see at first when going to "this pc". You know the one that windows provides you with. Turns out it only auto updates if you go and find the actual folder path.

Same behaviour with anything that you see in the "This PC" screen. My Documents won't update either unless you take it from C:/Users/XXXX

I guess that should be explicited somewhere, or solved.
