Durantium upgrade Cost is crippling

After several crusade games ( great changes btw) i have noticed everyone is really hamstrung by the Durantium  upgrade costs.  mid to late game all civs continually have a very short supply despite having many bases mining it

I think this is by design...

But I also think they need to make more things use the other items.    Almost NOTHING uses Thillium

Agree on both counts.  Needs re-balancing

In my game (2.14 opt-in, but started before the last changes, ludicrous, gifted, 300+ turns played) about 80% of the AIs (with which I have no war, the others I can't see) have nearly no Durantium, but 20% are overflowing with it (I see several 100 Durantium in the trade screen).

Thulium is used a lot by starbase modules. But I agree, balance is necessary. From most the planetary resources I have quite a lot after 300 turns, but some others are always used up, and that doesn't come alone from diferences in number of mines.

Thulium is used for some kinetic weapon upgrades, but some of the kinetic upgrades cost a ton of Durantium. But yes, with the 2.14 opt-in I'm seeing quite a lack of Durantium in my stocks now even though I have decent amounts of everything else around mid-game. I imagine that this must be intended, but I think it may need some adjusting to bring your Durantium use a little closer in line with the other element use. It's definitely making me less inclined to develop kinetic weapons. Need to do more play with it though.

In, I believe the 2.13 Patch, several of the Starbase modules were changed from Thulium (Sensors - Perimeter Scanners and upgrades) to Durantium, and from Promethion (Starbase Market and its upgrades) to Durantium.  Maybe they should be changed back.  Got to be really a pain for Silicone based Life Style Races since they need Durantium to grow (maybe they should be given an innate mining bonus like the Horta in Star Trek).

The game seems short on Durantium and long on Promethium. It may be intended but it is wrong imo. They also need more anomaliies nwhen the game is set to max them out. They give you all that surveyor capacity and make it no point to build them when there are too few anomalies to bother. The only anomaly ship worth having was the merc surveyor that gave you a hundred per. Then they nerfed that to 25 making it worthless imo. Love the game but it can irritate me.
