Converting Mac OS X icons to Windows .ICO

For those of you who've envied the incredible beauty, high quality, and great selection of Mac OS X Dockbar icons on www.xicons.com , I have put together an article that outlines how to unpack and convert the icons for personal use with ObjectDock.

You can find all the information here: http://www.upforums.com/themerge/Article-1.htm

You will need Stuffit 7.5 and IconWorkshop (5.01 or later). The shareware versions will do.

Wincustomize would now allow me to post the converted icons at Wincustomize, for obvious legal reasons. But it is perfectly legal to share the information neccesary to doing the conversions personally. Enjoy the icons!

In the past, I've also used Iconshop (1.20 alpha from http://users.pandora.be/liontech/) as a freeware alternative. It does a nice job of extracting the icons. One Caveat: While it works on my desktop, I can't get the program to run anymore on my laptop - and I have no idea why.
