I upgraded and 3 new issues have cropped up.

1. I was on 10.5 and firefox was skinning well.  Now I updated and Tab words are missing unless I move the mouse over it.  Is this something to do with the skin or the new version of WindowBlinds?

2. Also found that there is a blank box below the Window Min/Max/Close buttons which is literally unclickable.  Tabs and Add new Tab tab go and hide behind this box making it very hard to use firefox.

3. Finally, the taskbar height has become too high.  Any changing in the skin is not lowering the taskbar height (unless there is a new spot where I have to change).  I am using the same skin I used prior to Uninstall/reboot/reinstall.

When I go to uninstall it says screen10.exe is in use even though I shut down WB and installed a windows theme.

Okay I used ignore and then installed the update after a reboot and all is fine.

I am using FireFox 53.0.2 (32-bit)

The black box over the 3 options in right corner is GONE.  However, I do still have a black line all across my firefox screen that is just below default links, that is below the menubar, the webaddress bar, and then I have a bookmark bar, so the black line is under that and within the display area of the website.  In twitter the black bar is over the tweet button.  That still needs to be fixed in fire fox.  hold on I will try a different WB skin.  Yep, the black bar is there on more than one skin.

Uninstalled 10.6 rebooted and installed 10.6.2. Changed skins, no problem. Activated then rebooted. On the welcome screen it froze! No cursor, no nothing. Then a message comes up saying my laptop encountered a problem and needs to restart blah blah blah. I didn't get the stop code. The restart went fine and WB is up and running. What I didn't know was that updates for Win 10 had been downloaded. It worked on the updates during the reboot. I blame MS.

Make sure that you have closed Chrome after applying a skin (from default).

If you still see an issue please tell us what skin you are using, what version of Chrome, what version of Windows, etc.

Thanks

That fixes the problem.  I don't remember a previous WB needing me to shut down Chrome however, to apply a new blind.

Issue 1 is resolved.  Any suggestions for 2 and 3?

2 seems to be skin related as it is removed in some skins and shows up in others.

I went to my downloads page to grab the 10.62 beta, but the 10.61 is the only one available.

Any help is appreciated.

There is no beta, just the 10.6.2 update.

Are you trying here?

Yes, that is the place. I just clicked that link and 10.60 / 10.61 are the only WB downloads.

Different Skinner set the taskbar height different. Did you try and change it in SKS? You said you made changes was it in SKS?

I don't use FF but you said some skins work and some don't. Are there current skins that do this? Do you use a mix of older and newer skins. If so which one work? As I said I don't use FF but this info may help someone else to find a solution.

You should probably try clearing your browser cache, close it, then open it up and try again.

I tried your suggestion on three different browsers, but still no joy. I will try other computers and see what happens.

Do you know where you set the taskbar height in SKS?  I generally modify the text margin on top and bottom and the height of the taskbar gets adjusted accordingly.

Regarding Firefox, the box shows up when I use Venom and Sections skins.  Neutrino for example runs fine without the funny box.

Yes, adjusting the top and bottom text margins on the horizontal taskbar buttons will change the taskbar height. The left and right text margins haven't worked in years on the horizontal and vertical taskbar buttons and do nothing in case anyone wonders.

Please try again.  There was something odd going on because you were an upgrade from WB8

Both the skins you mentioned have been updated not long ago. However Neutrino original date was in 2015 so if you don't have the update it would most likely be fine anyway. Venom is a 2010 skin but also has been updated. If you are using the 2010 version most likely this is causing your problem.

NOTE: Lightstar already answered this. Sorry didn't see that.

To adjust the TB height: Load WB in SKS. Click on "Edit startmenu and taskbar" Click on "Edit Horzizontal Taskbars" Go to Taskbar/buttons/buttons and highlight it. At the bottom click on "Text" The only setting you will need to adjust is the "Top" number. Higher taller taskbar. Lower number to lower the taskbar. I would just try one number change at a time. NOTE: After each change don't forget to click APPLY.

I did try again, and all is well. I downloaded and installed the update.

Lightstar and ZubaZ, you are the best!!
