When I try to change the resolution, I get a black screen

My native resolution is 4k, and I found the font size too small for my taste (I hate having to squint at my games), and I saw that the UI size was already set to large (PLEASE MAKE EXTRA LARGE UI SETTING!), so I tried to change the resolution to something lower.  The pop-up box said that the changes wouldn't take effect until I restarted the game, but when I did that, the screen would be completely black.  I could hear the music and see my mouse cursor, but nothing else, just blackness.  So I uninstalled and reinstalled.  Same thing.  So I lowered my Windows resolution to 1920x1080 and tried again.  Same thing.  

Developers, could you please 1) fix this bug, and 2) offer larger font size for 4k resolutions?  Thanks!

I'm running at 4K presently.  Large is designed for 4K.   Are you positive your screen is really 4K?

 

Another thing you could try to is run in a window?

Thanks for your prompt reply--that's impressive!  I am indeed running in 4k (3840x2160).  I'm running an Alienware gaming laptop (Alienware 17 R3--specs can be seen at http://www.ultrabookreview.com/10190-dell-alienware-17-r3-review/ .  

I appreciate your attempt at making a large UI size, but if it's doable, I would really appreciate something larger, so an "extra large" size (or whatever it could be called) would really be appreciated.

I tried running in a window, but when I unclicked full screen and tried the lower resolutions, it just shrank the viewable window size.  

Is there any chance you guys could add an Extra Large UI size?

I also find the UI words a little small even on large and feel like I have to bring the monitor closer. I have 28inch monitor, not 4K. Bigger wordage would be nicer.

 

Usually a black screens means your graphics card cannot manage that resolution or you`ve set a mode on your Graphic card settings that your monitor cannot support. Check them first.
